Slef management & professionalism

Freelancer (Producer) - Self Management
As a freelancer you need to think about yourself and how to Manage yourself without asking for a lot of help. You need to know about the money problems for example:
- How much would you have to spend?
- How are you going to get money?
- What are you going to spend?
These things are the things you are going to have to worry about when you enter the freelance world, you would also need to know where you are going to go and everything. A freelancer would also need to take care of the littles things as well, like:
-Transport
-Annual Tax
-Payments
And everything.

Producer
For a producer it's quite hard for them to get payed, so before they start getting paid or anything, they would need to be abit more known by promoting their self and a lot more things. Since I am a producer myself I would need to begin thinking about money, how I'd get paid, what would I get in benefits if I make this instrumental and so on.
Professional & known producer's mostly get about £50-60k a year, they get payed by a percentag - only if they are making an album for someone.

Networking
Every producer needs to have links, they need everything especially artists and everything. For me I would need a lot of help to get where I want to be in future. I know that I would need a lot of 'links' to help me progress wih my path. I personally think that I would need:
-Artists
-Promoter's (Friends preff)
And maybe more. But these two are the main ones that I would need to help me with networking. How I would network is I would do a lot of research online, that's what every producer has to do as soon as they enter the freelance world.

Money Problems/Financial/Making Money
When you are financing you would need to pay your tax, bills & rent. You would need to know how to do it as well because if you are a very busy person then you would probably miss deadlines and such and such, then this can all lead to you messing up your career and becoming poor. When missing a deadline for example not finishing mastering a track before Tuesday then you would get a fine and then they'll probably get someone else to master the track for them.
Thinking about Money. Every freelancer probably ask their self... " What am I going to do with no money? "/ " I can't transport without money " / " I need the new Logic pro but I have no money " . Loads of freelancer's struggle with money, what they have to do in order to solve this problem is to think professional, the only way they could sort out their self is to find a job but at the same time they should make music - if they want their future to be bright.
As for me (as a producer) I would also need to think of getting a job first and still do music at the same time... I would need to do a lot of job searches.
Thinking about little things such as Transport, I would need to do something about it.
The way a producer would be making money is that they'll be making it off royalties, percentages
,merchandises and investments ( that's if you're going to invest something ).

Time management
As a musician I will set my time accordingly. The way I would set my time is that I would set it on my phone, I will add a couple of reminder's on my phone to my schedule. If I be late to a studio session then I would have to email them makingsure that I am late and give them a reason why I am late. Another thing is that If I am late and I am on the bus, then I would need to take a cab just for an emergency.

Future
A producer would need their grades to help them more... like degrees by finishing it off at University, their diplomas and everything. They should have a degree of music, they would need to already know about the music business, technology, engineering, studio & recording type of work and things like that. For me I think that I would need all the grades I need and knowledge especially in college. The most important area a producer needs to know more about is the Studio and Logic type of work... the reason why these our the most important things is because if a producer doesn't know how to create a midi region then there is no point in trying to become a producer, you'll just be a " Fake " producer & that would mean you don't know how to make beats or tracks for people.

Professionalism
This all depends on getting a Job and acting professional. You need to make sure that you are wearing the right & appropriate clothing. You need a lot of skillls as well.
Professionalism all involves in getting a lot of connections & networking a lot.
Things that you need to take in mind:

Presenting yourself
You need to be really well presented, for example when looking for a Job and comign in for an interview you need to wear the right clothing. Preferably a shirt, black trousers, shoes & a coat. You must get a fresh haircut as well so they would think that you are serious.
When presenting yourself at an interview YOU MUST REMEMBER - don't act chilled back, don't slack about or anything.  Don't turn up with a lot of piercings on your face or ears, don't have a lot of tattoos or anything because they won't take you any serious.

Organisation and Speaking
You need to be well orgnaised, you need to plan your journey by checking the TFL website so it can tell you where to go. You must plan your time accordingly, by getting your job interview atleast 1 hour early. You would need to find out what train (line) you should take and what bus you should take... you should also find out how long it would take you to get there.
How should you talk and respond to your interviewer?
The way you should talk to your interviewer is to talk formal and not informal, if you respond to questions with a lot of slang then they'll tell you to leave and they would not take you in. You need to show a lot of respect and the interviewer needs to know that you are mature.
